Sèti is a compact armchair designed with a minimalist approach that emphasizes reducing the use of raw materials. Combining a timeless aesthetic with natural, minimally processed materials sourced from the Cévennes mountains, it offers comfort suited to all body types. Born from the collaboration between Huub Ubbens and Arnaud Mainardi, it embodies an eco-friendly approach and a refined yet elegant design.
Sèti is a small armchair based on the idea of reduction of raw materials, timeless aesthetics and natural, minimally processed materials. It is designed to be comfortable for people of all sizes.
Huub Ubbens and Arnaud Mainardi, founder of Atelier Chatersèn, met through the Indigo d’Oc Association, a collective promoting design in Occitanie. It was from their exchanges that a real complicity was born, and the desire to work on a common project. The two men share the same vision of what an object should be today: useful, long-lasting, eco-responsible, with the idea of design that goes to the heart of the matter. The result is an elegant, comfortable object that gives pride of place to living, warm materials, a contemporary product with subtle echoes of furniture from other eras and cultures.
The wood used to make the Sèti Armchair comes from selective cutting in the chestnut forests of the Cévennes. To maintain the chestnut groves, local silviculturists carry out a selection process to enable future trees to develop in the best possible conditions.
In this way, Atelier Chatersèn recovers the raw material from the cut wood that will be transformed into furniture. This local wood, of excellent quality, is then worked according to ancestral know-how in the heart of the Cévennes, at Le Vigan.
